At FixPit we value your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and what your rights are when using our app and website. Versión en español.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details: name, phone and email you provide when requesting a service or registering as a mechanic.
- Location: your location to connect your request with the nearest mechanic.
- Vehicle data: make, model, year and a description of the problem, when applicable.
- Payment data: processed securely by our payment provider; FixPit does not store full card numbers.
- Verification data (mechanics): ID document, selfie and banking details, processed through our identity-verification and payment providers.
- Usage and device data: device type, app version, pages viewed, interactions and crash reports, collected automatically to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
- Connect you with available mechanics and coordinate the service.
- Process payments and send confirmations.
- Verify mechanics' identities and prevent fraud.
- Improve the quality, safety and support of the service.
- Communicate with you about your requests.
3. How we share your information
We share only the data necessary with the assigned mechanic to complete your service (name, location and request details). We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-party providers and tools
We rely on trusted providers that process data solely to deliver their service:
- Stripe — payment processing and mechanic payouts.
- Supabase — secure storage of application data.
- Microsoft Clarity — website analytics and session recording to understand usage and improve the site.
- Sentry — error and crash logging to diagnose technical issues.
- Identity and background-check providers — to validate mechanics (with their consent).
5. Security and retention
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and payments are processed through certified providers. We retain your data while your account is active and for as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations; afterward we delete or anonymize it.
6. App permissions
- Location: to send you the nearest mechanic and show their arrival in real time. Only while you use the app.
- Camera and photos: so you can attach images of your vehicle's problem and so mechanics can upload their verification.
- Microphone: so you can dictate your request by voice (optional).
- Notifications: to keep you informed about your service status (mechanic assigned, on the way, etc.).
You can revoke any of these permissions from your phone settings at any time.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You may request access to or correction of your data by writing to info@fixpitapp.com.
Delete your account: you can delete your account and personal data directly from the app, under your account section → "Delete my account." You can also ask us by email. Deletion permanently removes your personal data (name, email, phone); certain transaction records may be retained in anonymized form to meet legal and accounting obligations.
8. Minors
FixPit is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us to delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will post the current version on this page with its update date.
10. Your State Privacy Rights
California (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know / access: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purpose of collection and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete: request that we delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct: request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights (for example, by denying service or charging a different price).
- No sale or sharing: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@fixpitapp.com. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days (we may extend this period when reasonably necessary and will let you know). You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
