Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 10, 2026 · Version 2.4

By using FixPit (the app, the website, and the tracking and payment links) you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before requesting a service or registering as a mechanic. Section 20 contains a mandatory arbitration clause and a class action waiver that affect your legal rights. Versión en español.

1. What FixPit is

FixPit is a service operated by FixPit LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, with its address at 502 W 7th St, Ste 100, Erie, PA 16502, USA. In these terms, "FixPit," "we," "us" and "our" refer to FixPit LLC.

FixPit is a technology platform that connects customers with independent mechanics for at-home automotive services. FixPit facilitates the connection, communication and payment, but does not provide the mechanical service, is not the repair shop, and does not employ the mechanics. The mechanical service is contracted and performed directly between the customer and the independent mechanic; FixPit is not a party to that agreement. FixPit does not guarantee the quality, safety or results of any mechanic's work.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. By using the platform you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account and your conduct

4. How a request works

5. What we check about mechanics, and what we don't

Before activating a mechanic, our team reviews a photo of their license or ID and a selfie, and the mechanic attests, under their own responsibility, that they carry the license and insurance required by the law of their state. That is what "reviewed" or "verified" means on FixPit.

Today FixPit does not run criminal or driving background checks, does not independently validate mechanics' insurance policies, and does not inspect their work. The ratings and reviews you see are written by customers of the platform. We recommend that you check the mechanic's identity and credentials at the time of service and review the work when it is finished.

6. Independent mechanics

7. Pricing, quotes, extras and service fee

8. Payments

9. Cancellations

Scheduled appointments:

Cancellations by the mechanic are governed by section 6.

10. Refunds and disputes

If you are not satisfied with a service, contact us within 7 days of its completion and we will review the case. Refunds are evaluated based on the circumstances and, where appropriate, credited to the original payment method. As FixPit is an intermediary, disputes about the work itself are resolved primarily between the customer and the independent mechanic; FixPit may mediate and apply refunds or payment holds at its reasonable discretion. We ask that you contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank, so we can resolve it faster.

11. Off-platform arrangements

It is prohibited to arrange cash payments or other deals directly with the mechanic to bypass the platform. Services arranged outside FixPit are not covered by the platform's payment protection or by our mediation, and FixPit is not responsible for any damage, theft, injury, loss, quality of work or dispute arising from them. FixPit may suspend accounts that breach this rule.

12. Chat and communications

13. Ratings

When a service ends, the customer may rate the mechanic and the mechanic may rate the customer. Ratings and comments are visible within the platform to other users. They must be honest and respectful; FixPit may remove content that breaches these terms.

14. Warranties — disclaimer

FixPit is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement), to the maximum extent permitted by law. FixPit does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor exact arrival times, and does not endorse any particular mechanic. Any warranty on the repair, if any, is provided by the independent mechanic, not by FixPit. Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties; in those cases, the exclusions above apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

15. Assumption of risk and release

You acknowledge that you contract and receive the mechanical service directly from the independent mechanic, not from FixPit. You accept that any at-home automotive repair involves inherent risks (damage to the vehicle, to property, or injury) and that you assume those risks. You are responsible for checking the mechanic's identity and credentials at the time of service and for reviewing the work. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release FixPit, its owners, officers and collaborators from any claim arising from the conduct, work, damage or omissions of the independent mechanic.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FixPit shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, nor for damages arising from the work performed by independent mechanics. FixPit's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of the commission FixPit received for the related order. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited or excluded. Some states do not allow the limitation or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FixPit, its owners, officers and collaborators from claims, damages or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these terms or, in the case of mechanics, the service you provide through FixPit.

18. Suspension and account closure

You may delete your account at any time from the app (you will not be able to do so while you have a request or appointment in progress). FixPit may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (pending payments, chargebacks, limitation of liability, indemnification, arbitration and governing law) remain in effect after closure.

19. Copyright (DMCA)

FixPit respects copyright. Do not upload to the platform photos, reviews, messages or any other content that infringes the rights of third parties. If you believe content posted on FixPit infringes your copyright, you may send a notice to our designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

What your notice must include (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

Counter-notification. If we remove content of yours and you believe it was a mistake or that you have the right to post it, you may send a counter-notification (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3)) to the same agent, including: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal; (c) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and (d) your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which FixPit may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person's agent. If we receive a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the person who submitted the original notice and will restore the material in 10 to 14 business days, unless that person tells us they have filed a court action against you.

Repeat infringers. FixPit may remove infringing content and, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.

20. Dispute resolution — Mandatory arbitration and class action waiver

Please read this section carefully: it affects how disputes are resolved. You and FixPit agree that any dispute relating to FixPit will be resolved through final and binding individual arbitration, governed by the Federal Arbitration Act and administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its consumer arbitration rules, and not in court or before a jury. You waive the right to participate in class actions or in class or consolidated arbitrations. The arbitrator will decide on their own jurisdiction and on the validity, scope and enforceability of this clause. This clause does not prevent you from bringing a claim in small claims court where applicable.

Right to opt out: you may reject this arbitration clause by emailing info@fixpitapp.com with your name and account email within 30 days of your first use of the platform. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.

21. Governing law and forum

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, applicable to all users in the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules; the arbitration is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Subject to the arbitration clause, the forum for any dispute shall be Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

23. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the current version on this page with its date and version number, and we will notify you of important changes through the app, the website or email. If you keep using the platform after a change, you accept the updated version.
